#smarterhiphop #submission by @kickaversemg Stallone & Weathers | "The Feeling" [Video]

PRECYCE POLITIX & K-HILL ARE: "STALLONE & WEATHERS"
"THE FEELING" // [OFFICIAL VIDEO]
DEBUT EP AVAILABLE NOW • BANDCAMP / SPOTIFY / iTUNES

Have you ever had one of those times when everything just seems to flow easily in the right direction with minimal effort? Newly formed Hip-Hop emcee / producer duo NY's Precyce Politix and NC's K-Hill articulate that reflection fully with the Johnny Mathis inspired "The Feeling" video [Shot by Dan S. Lewin]. The two put together a lyrical exhibition, showcasing metaphors, punchlines, subject matter and a classic delivery, epitomising what a true emcee should be without a whisper of mumble, consider it a 'f**k you' to the mainstream. Taken from their recently released, critically acclaimed extended play "Precyce Politix & K-Hill are: Stallone & Weathers" it's the third official visual and a continuity story line from the previous two videos "The First Line" and "Olympics" featuring Mosca Flux.

Brooklyn bred MC, Precyce Politix and North Carolina based artist / producer K-Hill team up to form 'Stallone & Weathers.' They came up with the name while working on the EP, comparing their organic chemistry in the studio to Rocky and Apollo, not wanting to be so obvious with the concept, they decided to name them selves after the actors who played the roles [Sylvester Stallone & Carl Weathers] to avoid corporate red tape. "Stallone & Weathers" has already received recognition from several publications and prominent DJ's like DJ Eclipse, DJ Premier, DJ Samps [of WXDU], each of them having a different favorite song. Released via their own imprint Kick-A-Verse Music Group. This is pure lyricism / hip-hop / boom bap at its best, give it a listen [no skips] and see for yourself. #precycepolitix #khill #stalloneandweathers

11th December 2017, London, UK- Following on from performing with Stormzy at this year's MOBO Awards, pioneering UK rappers KREPT & KONAN have released the music video for the Rachet produced Get a Stack featuring J Hus.

Directed by Kaylum Dennis (Stormzy, Lady Leshurr, Section Boyz), shot in Ibiza and featuring J Hus, the video for Get A Stack is the fourth music video to be released from KREPT & KONAN's 7 DAYS and 7 NIGHTS mixtapes. It followings Wo Wo Wo, For Me and the recent Ask Flipz ft. Stormzy.

The release of 7 DAYS and 7 NIGHTS saw KREPT & KONAN break yet another record by being the first act in history to have two mixtapes debut in the Top 10 of the Official UK Albums chart simultaneously.

A UK first (no other British artist has released two mixtapes on the same day), 7 DAYS and 7 NIGHTS reflect the two sides of KREPT & KONAN's signature sound. While 7 DAYS boasts harder edged, grittier club tracks and features from J Hus, Skepta, Stormzy, Abra Cadabra and more; 7 NIGHTS showcases smoother, R n' B inflected, sultry jams and guest spots from Jhene Aiko, Hudson East and Tory Lanez.

The release of 7 DAYS and 7 NIGHTS signals a welcome return for the trailblazing duo whose ongoing critical acclaim and chart success has helped paved the way for the likes of J-Hus, Kojo Funds, Abra Cadbra, Yungen, Mo Stack and Section Boys (to name  a few). From the 2013 release of their Young Kingz mixtape which shot into the top 20 of the Official UK album charts (earning them a world record for the Highest-Charting UK album by an Unsigned Act), through to the 2015 release of their debut album The Long Way Home (which became the highest charting British Rap album in UK chart history after debuting at no. 2 in the official UK album charts), KREPT & KONAN have repeatedly broken records while consistently breaking ground.

#Smarterhiphop #submission by @lildave215 Osage (aka Lil'Dave) Releases New EP 'AlgoRhythm Vol.2,' Out Today Via Bastard Jazz

OSAGE
RELEASES NEW EP:

'ALGORHYTHM VOL.2'
Out Today, December 8th, Via Bastard Jazz

STREAM: Spotify | Bandcamp

"Osage, a Philadelphia-based artist whose sound speaks to the diversity of the world, makes music that has a range of influences. You can hear them all in "Right Now," from Caribbean and African rhythms, Bossa Nova to future R&B and electronica and deeper beats."
-EARMILK

"Philadelphia producer / DJ Lil'Dave (Osage) has established himself as one of the most eclectic modern producers with a style that encompasses everything from Samba to UK garage"
-ODYSSEY

Known to most as DJ/producer Lil'Dave, the veteran Philadelphia artist has released under a number of different alias thanks to his remarkable genre versatility. For his latest project the artist is returning under his alter-ego Osage, for a project that is the most eclectic of the bunch fusing deep house, samba, African rhythms, futuristic r&b, boogie, uk garage, salsa, broken beat, and soul.

Out today, Osage is revealing his second EP under the moniker titled 'AlgoRhythm Vol.2.' Coming via Brooklyn label Bastard Jazz, the project hears the artist expanding his sound into directions outside of your typical four on the floor dance rhythms. On the handclap driven "Anyway." he melds electronic elements with a soulful piano section (played by Wale Owoade) while the gentle voice of Yemi sings about chasing dreams. As the EP continues on, the carefree vibes of "Right Now" features singer/flautist Brielle over a track with a cracking break beat and some slightly Caribbean undertones. The producer also steps into the realm of Hip House as he provides a shuffling sub bass heavy background on "Hot Sauce" for Philly-based MC The Bul Bey to wax poetic about spicy condiments and the drive for success. As an added bonus, this release includes a special dubbed out remix of "I Found You"(feat. Dezaray Dawn), which was reworked by D.C.'s ambassadors of international beats, The Sol Power All-Stars.

For Osage, this release represents a continuation of his innovative production approach using slightly unorthodox drum programming, layers of synthesizer, and a focus on bringing the soulfullness out of the machines he is working with. To date, the producer has built an enviable discography including remixes  for artists including RJD2, Lady Alma, Ty, Ryat, Captain Planet, Foremost Poets, and more, and originals released via various labels including BBE Records, Tru Thoughts, Record Break-in' Music, Soulspazm, and First Word Records. He is also a member of the highly respected DJ crew Illvibe Collective and the co-host of the internationally known broadcast Eavesdrop Radio.

The Cipher: A History of Hip Hop in Miami (1995-1999), is a collection of the best of The Cipher, an independent newspaper published from 1998 to 2000. It is also a memoir by author John Cordero, who arrived in Miami in 1995 and immersed himself in the underground Hip Hop scene at the time.

Chronicling the rise and fall of the publication, the book is a story of Hip Hop in Miami in the words of its artists and creators, taken from interviews and told as a narrative of unfiltered recollections and anecdotes.  Featuring never-before seen photos and memorabilia, it is a personal journey that stresses overcoming all odds alongside the trials and tribulations of Miami youngsters making sense of and reporting on the multi-million dollar rap industry developing around them in the mid-to-late '90's.

Featuring interviews with stars such as DJ Craze as he began to dominate the competition, DJ Khaled from an underground radio station, and many more MC's, DJ's, Aerosol Artists and B-Boys and B-Girls, The Cipher is a testament and historical record of the creativity and talent that rose from the streets of Miami to rule the charts and ultimately reign atop pop culture.

Featured: DJ Craze, Phife Dawg (RIP), DJ Khaled, Guru (RIP), OutKast, Bobbito Garcia, Kool Keith, DJ EFN/Crazy Hood Productions, Speedy Legs, DJ Snowhite, DJ Coop D Ville, Freek/DAM, DJ Epps, Crook & Crome/MSG, DJ Raw, Nick Fury, Edecsta UW/IHS, Ground Zero Crew, Pitbull, Lil' Kim, Mic Rippa (RIP) and others!
