The NYC-based world traveling emcee, Timid, connects with underground rap legend Q-Unique (Arsonists) for a lyrically rich, conversation-starting new single, "Who's To Blame," bolstered by Skammadix's strings-heavy production.

Those who have heard Timid's previous work, including this year's great "I Love You" single, already know how the New Yorker can get busy on the mic. Whereas that track was definitely more romantic and personal, "Who's To Blame" is a call for answers and for people to actually admit when they're wrong without pointing fingers elsewhere.

On Q-Unique's verse, he details a number of well-known excuses, from music's influence to parental abuse, given by folks who may be unable to shoulder blame for their own actions. While Timid follows that same lead, he flips the script a bit by rapping like he's looking someone dead in the eye with lines like, "Or maybe you truly think/ That you're more deservin'/ And others less worthy/ Which is actually more disturbing."

"Who's to Blame" is now available through all major digital retailers and streaming platforms!

Smarterhiphop #Submission by @DaBluntIsLit Tracks from the "Focus On The Real" Album by Ash DaBlunt

Artist Name:

Ash DaBlunt

Hometown:

Oakland, Ca

Music Genre:

Hip-Hop

Label:

Produce Until Something Happens Entertainment or P.U.$.H. Ent. (Production Label)

Bio

Born & raised in Oakland, Ca; Ash DaBlunt has always been exposed to diversity in lifestyles & cultures. After years of assisting other artists with their music by ghostwriting and producing under the name ChuckT, he decided to start writing songs of his own but under a different name. Blending his northern California background with his Jamaican, Creole, & Native American Cherokee tribe heritage Ash creates music that not only bridges the slight gap between the cultures but also merges them together creating music that people can relate to & gain inspiration from. Utilizing his Native American heritage, Ash tells stories over Hip-Hop music that paint vivid & compelling images through rhyme. The name Ash DaBlunt was chosen as a way to pay homage to his Native American Cherokee tribe roots because it reflects the Native American naming culture of having a name that not only has a meaning but can also be a statement.

In the Summer of 2016 Ash made his debut with the release of his ChuckT produced single, "Way She Do It" which gained airplay on podcasts and radio stations across the globe such as Scotland (Freedom Talk Radio), Finland (@RQL_webradio(Instagram)), Pretoria, South Africa (rawjamz.mobi/), Washington D.C. (Excitement Radio),  as well as different college radio stations around the United States.

Following his 2016 release of "Way She Do It" Ash took a break from writing music and went back to producing for artists under the name ChuckT while he prepared for the release of his album.  During that time he produced "We Still Swim" by Messiah Ramkissoon which was featured on the Source Magazine's website.  In May 2017, Ash released "Down To My Last" produced by AFG of LA & himself as the 1st single from his November 2017 debut album "Focus on The Real".  With his debut Ash delivers an album that focuses less on the superficial things in life and more on the decisions and aspects of life that affect a person's character & future. Released under the Produce Until Something Happens Entertainment label a.k.a. P.U.S.H. or P.U.$.H., the album features some of Ash's own production but under the name ChuckT as well as NYC music producer Jay Pluto, Bay Area residents DaveCantRap & A.F.G. of L.A and Oakland native CSK Dray. The album also features rappers Jonathan, Supreme Power, Change, THE JAHZ, MacMe-Z, and Dave Clarke.

#Smarterhiphop #submission by @zone6ix @cyhitheprynce Music Submission: Tommie King ft. Cyhi The Prynce Eastside

Tommie King releases his third and final single of 2017, "Eastside" featuring Cyhi The Prynce. Rising artist Tommie King and ATL legend, Cyhi The Prynce are both from the Eastside of Atlanta, so it was only right for the two lyricists to collaborate and create a record that represents where they come from. Cyhi's recent album release, "No Dope On Sundays" proved that he is truly one of the, if not the greatest lyricist to ever represent Atlanta. He continues to prove this as Cyhi and Tommie King equally deliver witty lyrics and punchlines that blend together creating the smooth and southern sound of "Eastside."
